Personal Biography

Dr. William D. Hunt received the B.S. degree summa cum laude in 1976, from the University of Alabama, the S.M. from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology in 1980, and the Ph.D. from the University of Illinois in 1987, all in Electrical Engineering. In addition he has worked at Harris Corporation in Melbourne, Florida, and Bolt Beranek and Newman in Washington, DC. His doctoral research was on GaAs Acoustic Charge Transport (ACT) devices. He is a member of IEEE, the Acoustical Society of America, Eta Kappa Nu, Tau Beta Pi, Sigma Xi and was a Rhodes Scholar Finalist. He received a DuPont Young Faculty Award and a National Science Foundation Presidential Investigator award.
