Biography
Massimiliano Pierobon was born in 1979 in Bollate (MI). During the academic year 2004-2005 he received his M.S. degree from Telecommunication Engineering at the Politecnico di Milano, Italy. His master thesis, entitled “Automatic Classification of Human Gestures from Volumetric Data”, dealt with the research work carried out in the Image and Sound Processing Group of the Electronics and Computer Science Department. He is the first coauthor of some scientific papers in the field of automatic human action recognition for video-surveillance.
He worked as a researcher in the R&D department of Siemens Carrier Networks, Milan, during 2006.
From January 2007 to July 2009 he conducted research on Pattern Recognition and Signal Processing at the Electronics and Computer Science Department of the Politecnico di Milano, Italy.
Since November 2008 until July 2009 he was a visiting researcher at the BWN lab of the School of Electrical and Computer Engineering, Georgia Institute of Technology, Atlanta, where he joined as a PhD student in August 2009. His research interests are in Molecular Communication for nanoscale networks.
