GTReal: Finding Your Way Around Traveling from the Airport to the Georgia Tech Hotel: You can take MARTA, the local public transit train, from the airport to the hotel. Take either Northbound train. You can exit at the Midtown station and take a free bus called the Tech Trolley, or you can exit at North Avenue station (exit the end towards the Bell South tower) and walk about 3 blocks. Shuttles to/from the hotel/airport are also available. Click here for an expanded version of these instructions from the Georgia Tech Hotel web page. Click here for the MARTA train map. Traveling from the Airport to the Marriott Courtyard Midtown/Georgia Tech: We recommend that you take one of the commercial shuttle bus services available at the airport. We recommend AtlantaLink - you can make reservations online. Both hotels are located in the area designated as "Midtown." Meeting Location: We are meeting in the Petit Biotechnology Building on the Georgia Tech Campus. It is located at the corner of Ferst Drive and Atlantic Drive. Click here for an interactive campus map (the meeting location is building number 146). Click here for a simpler map showing the building location on campus and the MARTA stations. Walking from the Georgia Tech Hotel: If you are coming from the hotel, you can walk to our location in about 10 minutes. Exit the hotel and walk down 5th Street, crossing the bridge over the higway. At your second traffic light you will see a baseball field to your right and a lot of construction ahead of you. Keep on walking - the road has now changed names to Ferst Dr. At the next traffic light (up the hill and around the corner) you will be at the intersection where our building is located. Riding from the Georgia Tech Hotel: You can ride the Tech Trolley, a free bus which will stop near the meeting location. It follows the same route as the walking directions above. Riding from the Marriott Courtyard Midtown/Georgia Tech: We will provide a shuttle bus that will pick you up at the hotel at 7:45am every morning. Walking from the Marriott Courtyard Midtown/Georgia Tech: If you wish to walk, it would take about 20 minutes. Leaving the hotel parking lot, turn right onto Techwood. You will pass Turner Broadcasting Studios on your right. At the bottom of the hill you will dead end into 10th Street - there will be a basketball arena in front of you. Turn right onto 10th Street. Finally, turn left onto Atlantic - the Petit Biotechnology Building is located at the first intersection you encounter, at Atlantic and Ferst. Driving: Driving and parking directions can be found here. Emory Shuttle: There is a free shuttle that run between Georgia Tech and Emory. It runs between the Woodruff Memorial Research Building on the Emory University campus and the Petit Biotechnology Building on the Georgia Tech campus. Because this meeting is scheduled between semsesters, we are not sure what the schedule will be and will revise this information when we find out. At present, it departs Emory at 815am and arrives at Georgia Tech at 845am. At the end of the day, it departs Georgia Tech at 545pm and arrives at mory at 615pm.
