Biography

Raul was born in 1987 in Barcelona, Spain. He is pursuing his M.S. degree in Telecommunications Engineering and a M.S degree in Electronics Engineering from the Escola Tècnica Superior d'Enginyeria de Telecomunicació (ETSETB), within the Universitat Politècnica de Catalunya (UPC).

During the course 2009-10 he pursued his Master Thesis in Electronics Engineering at the Universitat Politècnica de Catalunya, under the supervision of Prof. Dr. Eduard Alarcón Cot. The area of the research was focused on the Synthesis of High-Efficiency Ellectronically-Tunable Filters for Energy Harvesting Applications.

He is currently carrying out his Master Thesis in Telecommunications Engineering in the Broadband Wireless Networking Lab under the supervision of Prof. Dr. Ian F. Akyildiz. The Broadband Wireless Networking Lab belongs to the department of Electrical and Computer Engineering, within the Georgia Institute of Technology (GaTech).

Selected Honors and Awards

• Fundación Everis award awarded the three best students of Telecommunications Engineering from Universitat Politècnica de Catalunya (UPC), Fall 2008.
   
  
• Bancaja international Fellowship awarded to outstanding graduate students in the Universitat Politècnica de Catalunya (UPC), to conduct graduate research in the USA, Fall 2010 - Spring 2011.
