Biography
Baris Atakan was born in 1977 in Ankara, Turkey. He obtained B.S. and M.S. degrees in electrical and electronics engineering from Ankara University and Middle East Technical University (METU) in 2000 and 2005, respectively. He received his Ph.D. degree in electrical and electronics engineering from the Next-generation and Wireless Communication Laboratory (NWCL) under the supervision of Prof. Dr. Ozgur B. Akan , Koc University, Istanbul, Turkey, 2011. He is currently a postdoctoral research fellow at the Broadband and Wireless Networking Laboratory (BWN-Lab) under the supervision of Prof. Dr. Ian F. Akyildiz, School of Electrical and Computer Engineering, Georgia Institute of Technology, Atlanta, USA. His research interests include bio-inspired communications, nanoscale and molecular communications.
