My research interests are in heterogeneous wireless networks and mobile wireless networks. I work with Prof. Sivakumar in the Georgia Tech Networks and Mobile Computing (GNAN) Research Group.

    Multihoming for Wireless Devices
  • Designed multihoming solutions for heterogeneous networks and implemented on Android smartphone platform.
  • Designed and implemented a real time multihomed 3S-TV system using NetFilter and Linux kernel programming.
  • Built a multihomed gateway that integrates Wi-Fi, WiMAX, 3G, DSL, and cable networks.
  • Built a testbed for 3S-TV video delivery over IP network using industry-standard products.

    Security Zone Discovery (IBM T. J. Watson Research Center, Summer 2008)
  • Developed a method for security zone discovery comprising diverse approaches.
  • Implemented a hybrid security zone discovery system using shell scripts, Java, and XML.
  • Developed and implemented a method for security compliance verification using Java and XML.

    Instant-Messaging Worms (CS 6262, Fall 2007)
  • Designed architecture for instant messengers to prevent worm propagation based on worm behaviors.
  • Implemented the add-on on MSN messengers using C#, Microsoft Active Accessibility, and MSN API.

    Securing Wireless Data Networks against Eavesdropping Using Smart Antennas (Spring 2007)
  • Designed security mechanisms using smart antennas to reduce exposure to eavesdroppers.
  • Built a physical-level simulator for wireless security with smart antennas using C++.

    Improving VoIP Call Capacity over IEEE 802.11 Networks (Spring 2007)
  • Designed a GUI monitor system to evaluate VoIP performance in real time.
  • Implemented the system using Java socket and Swing.

    UFFT: Ultra-Fast File Transfer (CS 7260, Spring 2007)
  • Designed a multipath data transfer protocol using digital fountain codes.
  • Implemented on PlanetLab using C++ and socket programming.

    Path Diversity in the Internet (ECE 4605, Fall 2006)
  • Designed a multipath routing mechanism via bottleneck-disjoint paths.
  • Implemented on PlanetLab using Java, ScriptRoute, and socket programming.

    Analysis of Link Dynamics in Mobile Ad Hoc Networks (Spring 2004)
  • Derived the distribution of link duration of mobile ad hoc networks under Random Waypoint model.

    Broadband Wireless Information Access for e-Building (Fall 2003)
  • Developed an IPv6 testbed and implemented the Reliable Mobile Multicast Protocol (RMMP).

    xDSL Multimedia and Multi-service Communication System (Spring 2003)
  • Implemented both VoIP and Web Proxy services over xDSL using Java.

    QoS and Multicasting in IP over WDM Networks (Fall 2002)
  • Analyzed the performance of the proposed all-optical multicast protocol using analysis and simulation.
