Diego Pacheco Páramo was born in Bogotá, Colombia in 1982. He received his degree in Electronic Engineering from Universidad de los Andes in 2004. In 2009 he received a Master degree in telecommunications from Universitat Politècnica de València, where he started his research on radio resource management applied to cognitive radio networks.

Since 2009 is part of the research group GIRBA, which is part of the Institute for the Applications of Advanced Information and Communication Technologies at Universitat Politècnica de València. In the same year he received a grant from the spanish government to pursue a PhD degree in telecommunications under the project "integration of ad-hoc, mesh and cellular networks".

His research interest lies in the areas of traffic modeling and analysis applied to cognitive radio, wireless sensor networks and heterogeneous networks.
