Elena Bernal Mor
Visiting PhD Student
Elena Bernal Mor was born in 1983 in Burriana, Spain. She obtained her Engineering Degree in Telecommunications, from the Escuela Técnica Superior de ingenieros de Telecomunicaciones (ETSIT) and the Master of Science in Communication Technologies, Systems and Networks, from the Departamento de Comunicaciones, within the Universidad Politécnica de Valencia (UPV).
She started her research career during the year of her Master Degree with a research scholarship from the Spanish Government and by the hand of Pr. Dr. Jorge Martínez-Bauset and Pr. Dr. Vicent Pla, within the Instituto de Aplicaciones de las Tecnologias de la Información y de las Comunicaciones Avanzadas (ITACA), UPV . Her research interests are in the area of the performance evaluation of telecommunication networks, particularly in providing quality of service in multiservice mobile cellular networks.
Since she finished her Master degree during the course 2007-2008 she has been involved in projects linked to resource management in mobile cellular networks within the Grupo de Interconexión de Redes de Banda Ancha (GIRBA), UPV. During the winter of 2011 she was a research visitor for three months in the Performance Analysis of Telecommunication Systems Research Group (PATS) in Antwerp, Belgium. Her area of research was focused on modeling the time-varying cell capacity in 3GPP Networks.
Currently, she is a visiting researcher at the Georgia Institute of Technology, in the Broadband Wireless Networking Lab under the supervision of Pr. Dr. Ian F. Akyildiz, inside the context of the International Research Staff Exchange Scheme (IRSES) project.
