Biography

Gail Oliver Palmer is a native Virginian who earned the B.A. degree from Mary Baldwin College in 1967 and the M.Ed. degree from the University of South Carolina in 1989.

Since 1996, Ms. Palmer has taught Professional Communication Skills in the School of Electrical and Computer Engineering at Georgia Tech. Previously, she taught English, journalism, AP grammar, Americanliterature, history, and political science in secondary schools in North Carolina, South Carolina (where she lived for twenty years), and Bermuda. Ms. Palmer has written for three metropolitan newspapers in Virginia and Georgia, and has also worked as a Production Editor in the College Textbook Division of Charles E. Merrill Publishing Company, Inc.

Ms. Palmer is an avid bridge player, a history buff, and an enthusiastic ACC basketball fan.
