GPCP ECE Graduate Student Tailgate Parties

History:

In 2006, the Graduate Professional Communications Program began sponsoring tailgate parties to encourage friendship and communication among ECE graduate students. The tailgate parties are also a means of introducing international students to a part of American culture.

Traditionally, tailgate parties are held outside prior to athletic events (usually football or basketball games). For those international students who may not be familiar with the term tailgate, a tailgate is the board or gate at the back of a truck or station wagon. The tailgate is lowered, and the food is served from it.

Upcoming Tailgate Party:

The Graduate Professional Communications Program (GPCP) is sponsoring an indoor tailgate party for all ECE graduate students from 3:30 p.m.-5:30 p.m. on January 10, 2007. The party will be held in the Klaus building atrium - this is the first student event to be held in the new building, so please take this opportunity to tour the new facility (and socialize
with fellow graduate students).

In addition to six-foot sub sandwiches (some all veggie and some with meat), we will have chips, cookies, and soft drinks. Although the Georgia Tech vs. Duke basketball game begins at 7:00 p.m. that night, please come to the tailgate party even if you do not plan to attend the game.
