Biography

Vehbi Cagri Gungor was born in Ankara, Turkey. He received his B.S. and M.S. degrees in Electrical and Electronics Engineering from Middle East Technical University, Ankara, Turkey, in June 2001 and December 2003, respectively. He received his Ph.D. degree in Electrical and Computer engineering from the Broadband and Wireless Networking Laboratory, School of Electrical and Computer Engineering, Georgia Institute of Technology, Atlanta, GA in June 2007. Currently, he is a Communication Systems Architect at Eaton Corporation, Innovation Center, WI, USA.

Vehbi Cagri Gungor is also the recipient of the IEEE ISCN 2006 Best Paper Award and the 2nd Most Downloaded Paper Award in Computer Networks Journal (Elsevier), according to the Science Direct, 2006.



Research

His current research interests are wireless ad hoc and sensor networks, underwater acoustic communications, wireless mesh networks, cognitive radio networks, power line communications, embedded systems, optimization models, electric system automation, and plug-in hybrid electric vehicles.
