Janne J . Lehtomäki graduated with an M. Sc. and Ph. D. in Telecommunications from the University of Oulu in 1999 and 2005, respectively. He is a senior research fellow at the University of Oulu, Centre for Wireless Communications (CWC). In 2008, he was a visiting researcher at the University of Agriculture and Technology, Tokyo, Japan. Currently, he is is a visiting scholar at Georgia Institute of Technology. His research interests are in nanonetworks, spectrum measurements, energy detection, cognitive radio networks. Dr. Lehtomäki has served as guest associate editor for the IEICE Transactions on Communications Special Section on Technologies for Effective Utilization of Spectrum White Space (Feb. 2014). He co-authored the paper receiving the Best Paper Award in IEEE WCNC 2012.

  • 2012 Best Paper Award from IEEE Wireless Communications and Networking Conference, Paris, France, from more than 200 papers accepted (overall acceptance rate 44.1%) to the PHY and fundamentals track.
