For Linux/UNIX: Follow the guideline of SPIM website, the only unclear part for some of you might be how to set paths for TRAP_DIR, BIN_DIR and MAN_DIR. It is done by doing the following under UNIX prompt. setenv TRAP_DIR <$your_spim_directory>/spim-6.5/trap_dir setenv BIN_DIR <$your_spim_directory>/spim-6.5/bin setenv MAN_DIR <$your_spim_directory>/spim-6.5/man After finishing all the guided steps of installation, type xspim under Linux prompt to enjoy the tool. For MS Windows: Download the pcspim.zip file, unzip it, and click on setup.exe. Everything is automatically set up. A new PCsim shortcut will show up in your Start menu. For Windows, you can ignore some warnings (e.g. label __start complaint) popped up when you load your assembly files, but be careful when you see an error.
