Biography
Lilian was born in 1982 in Tucuruí, PA, Brazil. She obtained her Computer Engineering Degree and a Master of Electrical Engineering, from the Faculdade de Engenharia de Computação (Engcomp), within the Universidade Federal do Pará (UFPA).
Her research career started during the first year of her Engineering Degree, by the hand of Pr. Dr. João Crisóstomo Costa, within the Laboratório de Eletromagnetismo Aplicado, with a research scholarship from the Conselho Nacional de Desenvolvimento Científico e Tecnológico (CNPq). Her area of research was focused on Wireless Sensor Networks (WSN).
During the course 2007-09, he pursued her Master Thesis at the UFPA, under the supervision of Pr. Dr. Aldebaro Klautau, with a fellowship from the Fundação de Amparo à Pesquisa do Estado do Pará. During the spring of 2008 she was a research visitor for three months in the Instituto de Engenharia de Sistemas e Computadores (INESC) in Porto, Portugal. Her area of research was focused on modulation classification for spectrum sensing in Cognitive Radio Networks.
Currently, she is a visiting researcher at the Georgia Institute of Technology, in the Broadband Wireless Networking Lab under the supervision of Pr. Dr. Ian F. Akyildiz, with a fellowship of Conselho Nacional de Desenvolvimento Científico e Tecnológico. She is also a PhD student in the LEA and LASSE group under the supervision of Pr. Dr. João Crisóstomo Weyl Costa and Pr. Dr. Aldebaro Klautau. Her current research is focused on Cognitive Radio Networks.
