Partners in Transitioning to Tech (PITT)
Dual Degree Mentoring Program at Georgia Tech

The dual-degree program in the College of Engineering at Georgia Tech offers undergraduates the opportunity to receive degrees in both liberal arts, from one of several partner institutions, and in engineering from Georgia Tech. The Atlanta University Center (AUC) colleges, Fort Valley State (FVS), and Albany State have been an active participants in this program. The Partners in Transitioning to Tech (PITT) program helps dual-degree students to meet the challenges of joining the engineering program at Georgia Tech mid-stream and to fully benefit from the opportunities the dual-degree program offers.

In this program, students partner directly with senior dual degree students, graduate student mentors, Georgia Tech faculty, education specialists, and advisors.

The PITT program originated in the School of Electrical and Computer Engineering (ECE) and has recently been expanded to incorporate students in Biomedical Engineering (BME) and Mechanical Engineering (ME). We hope to continue to expand the program to additional schools in the College of Engineering.

This program is sponsored in part by funding from the College of Engineering's Initiative in Undergraduate Engineering Education, by Lockheed-Martin, by the National Science Foundation, and by the School of Electrical and Computer Engineering.
