Personal Biography

Dr. Miroslav M. Begovic received his B.S. and M.S. degrees, both in ElectricalEngineering, from Belgrade University, Yugoslavia. He received the Ph.D. degreein Electrical Engineering from Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University in 1989. His thesis work was in the area of analysis, monitoring,and control of voltage stability in electrical power systems. His research wasconcentrated upon applications of a fast real-time phasor measurement system tothe problems of monitoring and control of slow dynamics in power systems. Upongraduation, Dr. Begovic accepted a faculty position with Georgia Institute ofTechnology, where he continues to do research on the application of computeranalysis techniques in power systems.
