Biography

Massimiliano Pierobon was born in 1979 in Bollate (MI). During the academic year 2004-2005 he graduated as a M.S. in Telecommunication Engineering at the Politecnico di Milano university. His master thesis, entitled “Automatic classification of human gestures from volumetric data”, dealt with the research work that he carried out in the Image and Sound Processing Group at the Electronics and Computer Science Department. Moreover, he took part in the preparation of scientific articles in the field of automatic human action recognition for video-surveillance.

Afterwards, he spent one year working in the research and development department of a company that operates in the mobile communication field.

From January 2007 to July 2009 he has conducted research at the Electronics and Computer Science Department of the Politecnico di Milano university. His research interests included the study and the development of techniques suitable for the analysis and the automatic recognition of human actions using several data acquisition systems.

He is currently a PhD student at the Georgia Institute of Technology with the task of studying Molecular Communication theory applied to networks of nodes at the nanometer scale.
