Course Schedule

Projects: Remember we have three levels of projects for this class

  • Design Projects
  • Final Design Project
Lectures will closely correspond to the projects that we are working on that week.

The projects center on experiments to be compiled and measured on custom Field Programmable Analog Arrays (FPAA) that have been invented at Georgia Tech after many years of research into analog circuit and signal processing.

Projects

Project Topic Project Due Date
Walking through CAB components
Passive Channels, Dendrites, Diffusors, and WTA networks
Active Channels and Neuron Models
Synapses / Classifiers / VMM
Sensory Systems: Cochlear Processing
Final Project Final Exam Period

The first project, "Walking through CAB components", will be primarily an analysis project, where the remaining projects will be design based projects. We need analysis for the first project to get everyone up to speed on using the FPAA devices, while covering basic circuit techniques and intuition we will need for the course. These topics will include Basic Switches / FPAA Overview (Aug 26) Transistors I (Aug 31) MOSFET Transistor Circuits (Sept 2) Differential Amplifiers / OTAs (Sept 9) Programmable Circuits

More detailed project information is on a separate web page

Holidays: October 13 (Fall Break), November 25 (Thansgiving)
