Your course grade will be based on your performance on quizes, projects, and the final exam by the following percentages:

 Evaluation Tool

 Quizes

Projects

 Percent of Grade

 25%

25%

Note that your grade is evenly divided between your individual performance, and your work in a small team of two people. An additional web page of project policies is also provided. The 4 quizes are weighted equally (6.25% of total grade each). The first project has lower weight (8% of total grade) as opposed to the other three projects (13% of total grade each).

Grade Components

Homework: There is no graded homework in this class. There will be homework problems available for each day's lecture on the web. These problems are intended to aid students in their preparation for the exams and final.

Projects: You will work in groups of two. To forms these groups, I give you two options. First, you can choose grouping on your own. Second, I can choose a partner for you. You may change partners between projects, but not during an individual project. Unless there are strong circumstances, both partners will receive the same grade for this project. More detailed project information is on a separate web page.

Short quizes: Questions and Answers will be on a single sheet of paper (maybe double sided). The quizes will be handed out at the beginning of class; you will have 20 minutes to complete the quiz. Quiz days will still have lecture for the remaining 45 minutes of class.

Final Exam: The final examination will cover comprehensively all the material presented in this course. The Exam will be closed notes, book, etc, but you are allowed to use your graded projects (or photocopies or printouts of your projects) during the exam. The final exam will be held on the official institute time and day for final exams for MWF 1:20-2:30 timeslot. If you have three exams on that day, you must talk to me before the last week of classes to reschedule your exam.
