I am a graduate student at the Georgia Institute of Technology, Atlanta, GA, USA working on a doctoral dissertation under the guidance of Dr. Chin-Hui Lee. Most of my Ph.D. research is in digital signal processing, optimization and pattern recognition, and the application of these to problems in speech and language technologies.

I earned my B.S. degree as the 2nd ranking student from the Department of Electrical and Electronics Engineering at Bilkent University, Ankara, Turkey in 2002. I earned my M.S. degree from Georgia Institute of Technology in 2004, and expect to get my Ph.D. degree in August 2008.

In 2006, I was selected as one of the Microsoft Research Graduate Fellows. Also in 2006, I was selected as one of the Best Student Paper Award finalists in the International Conference on Acoustics, Speech, and Signal Processing.

I moved to ICSI Speech Group. Check http://www.icsi.berkeley.edu/~sibel/.
