Research Interests

Professor Verriest's current research interests are in mathematical system theory, with emphasis on stochastics and mathematical modeling. This encompasses realization, approximation, and estimation theory. He also has a lively interest in algorithms for optical signal processing, and the effects of finite precision on control. His research also focused on model reduction, stochastic realization theory, and data compression.
