Yucel ranks and one of my favorite professors during my time at Tech. He obviously knows his stuff very well and he can (and does) explain it clearly. He has the surprisingly rare ability to really understand what students don''t comprehend and focus on those areas. The homework and tests could be difficult, but they were fair and he certainly prepared us well. I appreciate the extra review sessions that were provided. In short, Yucel obviously cared about the class and individual students, and he truly wanted us to learn the material. He was also very personable and he didn''t try to act ''better'' than the class.

Excellent professor, one of the few professors I have seen at Tech that actually seems to care about the students. Very interesting course.

I am particularly satisfied with the ability of the instructor to present in a simple way some complex material from the books. You gain a lot at coming to every lecture. The instructor is kind of challenging your mind and you don''t really realize that the lecture time is finished. This class definitely meet my expectations and will help me perform better with my graduate class in the communication field.

class is not orginize, the professor is not very helpful

The homeworks were not reasonable. We had to spend a lot of time to do HWs. If we used that time to study, it would be better.

The class was difficult. However the professor provided much support and explination when covering the material. I was quite impressed and pleased at the professor''s attitude in teaching the class. He was very willing to hold extra review sessions that helped me along with the rest of the class. I actually learned something from this class.

Needs to teach less math theory and focus on the concepts more.

Excellent Instructor! Have more class time working out problems. I enjoyed the class but it seems like I put way too much time in the class and out of class. I will recommend my friend to take you! You are a good guy and a reasonable man.

Instructor was very interested in students learning concepts, which is important. He also was reasonable and willing to devote his own time to this endeavor.

professor altunbasak is still becoming acclimated with the gt environment. he is a very good professor and definately understands the material well, but does not completely understand yet what it is like to be a tech stude

I took this course simply because I was interested in the subject material. Dr. Altunbasak is well-suited for teaching the communications subjects covered in the course, and really seemed focused on making sure that the students learned and remembered the fundamental concepts of the communication systems that we covered. My only complaint is that my previous ECE signals courses (taken under the quarter system) did not give me a solid background in Fourier Analysis and Random Processes. I would like to sit in on Dr. Altunbasak''s multimedia communications class; I think it would be an interesting and positive learning experience.
